Did you see my profile picture over in the side bar? It’s a pretty good peek into who I am based on what I like.

But there was a time though, when I wasn’t smiling. I was depressed, scared, angry, sad, rebellious, lonely, confused, lost and a general wreck of a person. I tried all the wrong things to make myself happy and eventually ran out of the world’s options to find peace and joy. So I turned to the Church.
I had been baptized into the Catholic Church when I was ten. As a side note, saved in the Southern Baptist church around the same time thanks to the life of a child of divorce.
Anyway, baptized Catholic, went to Catholic schools, led a very nominal Catholic life, until I was sick and tired…and sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was suffering, my new husband was suffering, my marriage was suffering.
I headed to the Church as my last resort. Jesus took me in and cleaned me. I loved Him and He loved me. I went on my way.
And Jesus answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.
†Luke 10:27
All those years later, I loved the Lord, with all my heart, soul, and strength. But I didn’t love Him with all my mind. I also didn’t love myself. Part of not loving myself meant I didn’t guard my senses. I watched whatever crappy tv show came on including all the sensational scary news stories. I struggled for peace because I took in junk. And a melancholic temperament with a vivid imagination taking in and storing loads of junk does not make a mentally healthy person.

About seven years ago, I was suffering. I was scared and anxious and anxious and scared. Yes, I meant to type those words twice. I was in a bad place mentally. Thankfully, God led me to the right people at the right time to teach me. I learned the Word of God was a salve and healing balm to my tired mind. I learned God loved me. Not God loved me: if, when or because. God loved and still loves and will always love me…PERIOD.
So here I am, living, loving and being loved. And I want to help you do the same. I’ve only recently embraced the fact that I can teach and encourage others; those who are suffering, those just getting by day to day and those of us who may swing somewhere between the two.
For a long time I thought I needed some fancy letters either before my name, St. or after my name, PhD, to help others. And then I realized, Christ didn’t only leave the Church with the educated and seemingly successful like Luke, a doctor or Matthew, a known tax collector. He also chose Peter and his brother, fisherman and Mary Magdalene, a renowned sinner. He called the skilled and the simple, the saints and the sinners. And I qualify in a couple of those categories.
And now about The Littlest Way…A little more about I came to write in this place…From Plain Grace to The Littlest Way. That would explain the lack of comments on some of these posts, they were manually moved over from my old site. That would also explain why it looks like I just started blogging in April of 2014. I chose to refurbish the posts from my old site. They’ve been shined up and are ready to be introduced or re-introduced here on The Littlest Way.
I’m still in the process of moving, so please be patient. In the mean time, go ahead and click the icons to follow me on:

And I always love to hear from you by mail
