This Week on Periscope @LittlestWay
Well, we’ve providentially found ourselves in the Book of Deuteronomy haven’t we? Who knew it was such a beautiful and rich book? Not me! Here’s the Bible I usually bring me every morning to our broadcasts, it’s a large print and my forever Bible. I decided to start reading and taking notes in a new Bible as I read along with you all on Periscope. I’m using the Catholic Women’s Devotional Bible. I’m also reading and sharing quotes from two really lovely books: The Way of Trust and Love and Divine Mercy for Moms. And finally, I think…Monday I shared a Scripture coloring page, print it off and have fun! UPDATE: Here’s the book I am reading to my children this May, The Life of Mary as Seen by the Mystics.
Hi There! Good Morning! Welcome to my Periscope Show page. Here you will find all the things I mention on a Periscope episode: a book, a song, a quote, a printable, something tangible to read after I’ve mentioned it or we’ve discussed it on an episode.
Let me tell you why I use Periscope. My purpose in using Periscope is the same reason I blog, to encourage women to find their true value in Christ through Bible and Prayer Journaling, Daily Affirmations, Inspiring Bible Quotes and Book Club Time. Plus it’s a fun way for an introverted momma of many extroverted and socially active children to form community…without having to leave my home. It’s the truth and it’s the season I’m in right now, so I’m embracing it!
As I was considering “Why am I doing this? Am I just more internet noise?” I listened to a talk recently where some pretty scary statistics were shared. The woman giving the talk shared that in 2004…
::less than half of the adults surveyed could name the Four Gospels
::60 percent of Americans can’t name even five of the Ten Commandments
::According to 82 percent of Americans, “God helps those who help themselves,” is a Bible verse. [It’s not.]
::A majority of adults think the Bible teaches that the most important purpose in life is taking care of one’s family.
::12 percent of adults believe that Joan of Arc was Noah’s wife
::50 percent of graduating seniors thought that Sodom and Gomorrah were husband and wife
::A considerable number of respondents to one poll indicated that the Sermon on the Mount was preached by Billy Graham.
And I knew. I knew there was a way I could not be more internet noise. As a matter of fact I could be just the right amount of noise sharing just the right things on the internet, with just the right group of women. And then this Hawk Nelson song came to mind that sums it all up perfectly. The song is entitled “Words” and a small bit of the lyrics are on the lively image at the beginning of this post.
A couple of things, if you miss the show live Monday through Friday around the :35am time frame Central Standard Time. Next, a little about Periscope.
::If you slide up or swipe right, you can invite friends and followers to the broadcast…I love it when you do that!
::Hearts are a good thing so tap the screen and watch the hearts scroll by. This can mean anything from “Hello” to “I agree” to “I like you or what you’ve just said.” I love it when you do that too!
As I mentioned, this page will serve as an archive page for links to broadcasts and the things I mention in those broadcasts. Please know, I will only mention and recommend things I really and truly know and love. When I find something I love, I tell my friends about it and ya’ll are no different. Also know, I participate in the Amazon Affiliate program. This means if you click one of my links to Amazon and purchase something, I receive a small commission. I appreciate every penny you spend when you click my link to support this ministry.
